Dubai - As I saw it !

DUBAI - As I saw it !

Burj Khalifa
A lot of friends asked me about my experience related to United Arab Emirates and some of my friends also asked for an estimated budget for a small visit to Dubai. So I decided to write about it so that my friends and other people could benefit from it.

The reasons to visit Dubai would vary from person to person and from affordable budget to lavish budget but let me generalize it.

The major costs related to the plan would fall in the following categories:
  1. Travelling to Dubai
  2. Place to Stay
  3. Transportation
  4. Food
  5. Places to Visit / Things to Do in Dubai

TRAVELLING TO DUBAI

There are number of travel agents offering different visa and ticket packages to Dubai. You can opt for that or you may search it yourself online through Air Arabia, Fly Dubai etc. for various discount offers.

TIP: If you have a friend/relative in Dubai ask them to look for offers/discount deals because a lot of credit/debit cards offer 5% to 10% discount on ticket so you may save some bucks on that.

PLACE TO STAY

If you dont have a friend/relative in Dubai then dont worry there are a lot of options that you could go for at very affordable rates. Bed Space, Rented room, Hotels etc. One of the best option is to search it through www.dubizzle.com and the specific area you wish to reside.

TIP: Deira is the most preferred area for the visitors since it has the metro train/bus service and a lot of good places at walking distance.

FOOD

Dubai being a tourist destination offers a wide variety of food. From Desi foods to high end continental restaurants and from road side cafeterias to famous fast food chain, Dubai has it all. KFC, McDonalds, Pizza Hut, Hardees, etc you name it and they have it.

TIP: Most of the Malls have Food Court having all the major fast food restaurants and a lot of restaurants have different offers (lunch time offer, budget menu etc), therefore survey their menus and offers before ordering something. Roadside cafeterias offer spicy shawarmas for as low as 5 AED and Kadak Tea for only 1 AED.

TIP: www.zomato.com and www.talabat.com are 2 famous online food ordering website with home deliveries and upto 20% off on different orders.

TRANSPORTATION

If you are not used to of walking then you will find Dubai's transportation a bit expensive. However RTA Metro Train, Metro Buses are cheaper alternatives if you know the stops/stations and the locations. Taxis runs on a meter and have a minimum of 12 AED rent along with per KM charge as well as the waiting charges during traffic jams.

TIP: Use Google Maps for the location and also download RTA App for bus stops, Metro station details and the timings.
